When I make pumpkin pie, I always have filling left over, Am I doing something wrong? I use the deep dish shells. I feel bad throwing it away.   Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks

You could try filling the pie shell a bit fuller.  Place it in the oven before you fill it that way you won't spill on the way to the oven.  You could also make a "cooks treat" pour the extra into a small custard dish or ramekin or even a coffee mug. Put it in the oven right along with the pie.  Depending on the amount it should bake in 15 minutes or so.  Have a seat and enjoy it with a cup of tea while you are waiting for the pie to get done, the dishwasher to complete a cycle or the dryer to beep. (Or if you are like me and don't have a dishwasher, other than the two attached to the arms just sit and relax.)
