I am confused about this - could someone help me please

I want to make the recipe Chocolate Chip Cheesecake from this sight - the recipe states - 1 1/2 cup crushed chocolate sandwich cookies
Would this be Oreo's or more of a chocolate wafer? The picture with the recipe doesn't look like oreo's.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Gina

Gina, I made this just using the hard cookie part of the Oreo, I removed the cream filling. I hope this helps you.

Thanks Irma - So was it good?  I like that it is simple but with a bit of a twist.

When I see a recipe that calls for a sandwich cookie it is one with filling in it.  It is possible that the filling is counted as part of 1.) the moisture and 2.) the fat called for in the recipe and 3.) the extra sugar that the filling has.
I often think that cookie crust recipes contain more sugar than is needed so I often cut back on the sugar.  I buy bags of cookies from an outlet store near me and I take the broken ones or when they are out dated I will process them in the blender or food processor and package crumbs in zip top bags, about 2 Cups to a bag.  Toss them in the freezer and I have cookie crumbs for all types of things.  Always use cookie crumb crust for Key Lime pie and my Peanut butter pie with chocolate ganache topping.  I also have a "Tea Cake" that calls for no flour but uses cookie crumbs.  Great to have cookie crumbs on hand.  Never know when the "urge to bake" will strike.
