Dear Bakers:

You may have noticed that we rolled out a new look to your Recipe Box. This will allow you to more easily read the recipes you have stored and add to or remove from your shopping list. Also, when you view a recipe you have saved to your Recipe Box, you'll be able to manage the categories on the recipe page.

Later today, we'll be adding your swapped recipes back to your Recipe Box. Any of your personal recipes or swapped recipes that you had added on the old site will come back.

In the next few weeks, you'll be able to submit new recipes and edit your own recipes. We're still working on the best way to feature the most popular Swapped Recipes. This will come back in 2011.

My question is......where's John??? Swapped recipes are coming back, John! Are you paying attention?!
And yes, VBB.....THANK YOU!!! Haven't checked my recipe box yet today, but will do so as soon as I'm done posting on the forums! Can't wait to see what you've done there. Maybe by the time I get there, my swapped recipes will be back in my box!

This is great! But I have one question. When I checked my recipe box there is a note that some recipes were removed because they were made private.. Why? and is is possible to find out what ones are no longer available?
I did not realize that once you posted a recipe that you could make it private. Does that mean that I can place a bunch of recipes in my recipe box that only I have access to? I thought once it was posted it was available to all.

OK I guess that was more than one question...

Nikki, mine showed some had been removed or were made private also but, after a few minutes, they were there and none were gone. Maybe that came up because they hadn't all loaded.

Guess we will not be lucky enough to find a new holiday recipe using swapped recipes this year. Thanks alot VBB, you should have waited till all the bugs were out to change the site

Nikki:

You and Fran are right. Any of your recipes that you store in your recipe box can be made private. You can change the privacy settings on any of your recipes. In the coming weeks, as we bring back the submit recipe form, you'll be able to use VBB to store all your private recipes.

VBB ; I'm so thrilld,I had to read it twice to be sure I read it correctly,the first time; "SWAPPED RECIPES' are omingback!!!!!!!!!!!!!; w/what looks ike few nice new features.... I'm glad you are taking it slow in order to find the best way of doing it, m so hopefuly there on't e ny " dissappointments "w/ the return of this

TO VBB:

By swapped recipes---are you talking about the various recipes that we post in the forums? If so, how do you get a recipe that someone posted into your box or where ever it goes? If not, what and where are we talking about? In the past, even on the other site I would always copy and print a recipe if there was one I liked and wanted. HELP!!!

Swapped Recipes are recipes that VBBers enter directly in their recipe box and make public so others can add to their recipe box. Recipes that are typed in the forums aren't available anywhere else so your copying and pasting of those is the best way to go!
