Hi Tori -- welcome to the VBB board.  I haven't the faintest idea what the Brownie Points are or what they're used for ....
VBB says they will tell us in January.
So, I suggest you get more points ... hurry up :-)

I have been asking this same question for a long time... long before the site "upgrade."  Seems sort of foolish to have a visitors' program with no information.  If the old program is changing in January, then at least they should have some sort of an explanation on the site as to what it was and what changes can be expected.

I don't pay much attention to the "brownie points" because it never meant much to me in the past.  I just never got enough points for it to matter.  Now that I am posting messages I am getting more points but it doesn't matter because I am enjoying myself.  Actually the points sort of remind me I am spending a bit more time on the computer than I should!

I don't know Nancy, for you it might be better you are on the computer.  At least then you are not mixing up a batch of cookies. (I know you are on the computer during the 8 to 10 minutes a batch is in the oven.)

Should we all log on at Midnight tonight and watch our Brownie Points nose dive to ...0...?

Not that it matters since we have no idea what they are good for.

Nikki -- Did you post the Buterscotch - Cashew Cookie recipe?  Please, pretty please.
I copied and printed that being eager to make it.
I just set up the mixer, placed the already crushed butterscotch  pieces, got the cashews .... all ready to go, right?

Well, I can't find the recipe!!!  I've torn everything in my messy kitchen looking for it but it's gone.  Rats.
I wonder if I can find it now.

What a day ..... I hope things straighten out and get easier........ for all of us.

I made Butterscotch Cookies just using my Nestles Chocolate Chip recipe .... no chocolate chips, of course.  Frown
No cashews either .....I knew I had that can of cashews in my cupboard....I didn't know they had been opened and snacked on.  No problem there but I also didn't know they expired in September ..... yuk.  Smelly rancid nuts.
OK -- move on, just leave out the nuts.... add lots of crushed butterscotch.

I put the dough in the 'fridge to set up a bit  and it was easy to roll into balls and push each one into the finest crushed butterscotch.  I'd saved that just for this purpose.
But it spread too much in the oven and the hard butterscotch pieces made transparent spots in the cookies.
They are really delicious but still too flat and "hole-y"

Here it is January, and I still have no idea what to do with the brownie points yet, but there are 3 updates in the forum from VBB.  Maybe the information will be forthcoming soon.

The points didn't take a nose dive like the crystal ball in Times Square or the beachball at our local beach celebration, so that might be a good sign.

Did someone say they won an apron with brownie points?  That's something I could use -  after all the holiday baking, many of my tee shirts have grease stains etc.   If not an apron, lots more detergent or a bottle of citra-solv (which will take out the stains, but at a price).  Happy New Year to all.

Don't know what you get with the points.  It would be nice to know and to receive something or  just eliminate the points and we will continue to have a good time writing to each other through these questions.
