Steps:

1. If storing for a short time, leave grapefruit at room temperature.

2. If storing longer, chill immediately in the refrigerator crisper for up to 6-8 weeks.

3. Allow to warm to room temperature before eating. Grapefruit are juicier at room temperature than when cold.

When opening, watch out for seeds, because even if called "seedless," grapefruit may contain a few seeds. And to make grapefruit even sweeter, top grapefruit halves with brown sugar, maple syrup or honey.

You can use grapefruit juice in place of orange or lemon juice for almost any recipe.
